Women Pushing Boundaries in Business

  • KMC M3-50 44 West 4th Street New York, NY, 10012 United States (map)

NYU Stern Entrepreneurship & Startup Association and Stern Women in Business will be co-hosting a panel of female founders and business leaders that are starting conversations and companies focused on taboo problems and industries. Through this candid chat, we will understand their motivations in starting their respective businesses, while also learning what it’s like to market and raise funds for non-mainstream ventures. Panelists will tell us how they are changing stigmas in their industries, and more specifically what it’s like to pitch a company to investors and investment firms (that are largely led by men) when your company sells vibrators, bidets, or bras for women with small chests. The event will be moderated by Lindsey Green, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Bustle Digital Group, parent company to premiere millennial publications Bustle, Romper, and Elite Daily. RSVP here.

Lia Winograd, Founder of Pepper. Lia is a first-year full-time MBA student at NYU Stern and the co-founder of Pepper, an e-commerce startup that makes better-fitting bras for small-chested women.

Polly Rodriguez, CEO of Unbound, a sexual wellbeing company that is making sex better for women everywhere by providing a sophisticated, reliable, and affordable shopping experience.

Verena von Pfetten, co-founder of Gossamer, a cannabis lifestyle brand and bi-annual print publication covering travel, design, and culture through a green lens.

Carrie Yang, marketing director of TUSHY, a female-led social start-up that aims to bring their modern bidet attachments to mass adoption in the United States and beyond (aka: cleaning America's buttholes).
