Leslie R. Schover, PhD is a clinical psychologist specializing in cancer-related problems with sexuality or fertility. She graduated from Brown University in 1974, phi beta kappa, magna cum laude, with honors in psychology. She received a PhD in clinical psychology from UCLA in 1979. Her dissertation was supported by a Woodrow Wilson Research Grant in Women’s Studies. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in sex therapy and sex research at SUNY at Stony Brook in 1981. She was Assistant Professor of Psychology in Urology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center from 1982-1986 and served as Staff Psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation until 1999. She then returned to MD Anderson Cancer Center, becoming a tenured full professor in 2003. She retired in 2016 to devote full time to her startup company, Will2Love. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, 33 book chapters, 3 self-help books, and a textbook. Her research on interventions to help people with cancer overcome problems with sexual and fertility issues includes three, fast-track small business grants funded by the National Cancer Institute to develop and evaluate internet-based interventions for cancer survivors on sexuality and fertility, in partnership with Paul Martinetti, MD, Principal of Digital Science Technologies. She also had grant funding from the American Cancer Society and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. She received the Holland Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Psychosocial Oncology Society in 2016.

Her digital health startup, Will2Love ( provides online help for cancer-related problems with sexuality or fertility. In 2015, Will2Love was chosen as one of 21 companies for the initial class of a new health accelerator in the Texas Medical Center, TMCx. presents free content, including blog posts, webinars, and social media forums. Evidence-based, online self-help interventions for men and women are offered direct to consumers on a subscription basis. Video-based telehealth counseling is coming soon. A special portal for health care professionals offers online training and a detailed clinician’s manual. Will2Love is joining the American Cancer Society to conduct a free pilot trial of its self-help programs in mid-2017 and is also sponsoring the Bring It Up! Cancer, Sex, and Fertility public health campaign to promote more effective patient/health professional communication about sex and fertility in cancer care.. Will2Love’s mission is to double the number of cancer survivors receiving effective reproductive health care by 2022.
